Well, I have found myself questioning my “type 2” ness… I joined the facebook page for type twos and I just don’t feel like I really fit in with that group. Today, I played around with a type 3 outfit just to see and I really liked it!! I met a good friend for lunch and she’s been following a long with my process. In her opinion, I’m definitely more of a 3 than a 2. Here’s me in the outfit.
I was in Kohls and wanted to try on the colored jeans behind me just to see….and boy, did they ever make me thankful that I sew! I tried on five pairs of pants and wasn’t even tempted by any of them! The ones I have on in the pic are a pair of Thurlows that I made awhile ago. They are far superior to anything I tried on. I actually have 2 more denims and 1 brown twill pulled out in the sewing room to make more.
But first, I’ve been working on my Mccalls 5818. Last night I pinned the pieces together per the pattern instructions for a test fit, unpinned and sewed the inner leg seams. This morning I did the outer leg seams and interfaced the waistband. Here’s a shot of the zipper (Yes, I’m quite proud of it). 🙂
One thing that I found kind of cool about this pattern was the crotch curve. The pattern actually comes with several options!
I’m using the lowest one b/c I have a droopy butt and it seems to be working well. I am excited to see how these pants turn out! I hope to have them finished tomorrow. It’s really just the waistband and hemming left to do!
Happy Sewing!
Wow, nice to have some choices when fitting! I will have to look that one up.
Can’t wait to see the finished trousers. Looking good so far.
